The sea breezes of the Thermaikos Gulf intersect in the privately owned vineyards of the Aslanis family, within walking distance of the amphitheatrically built settlement of Nea Michaniona.
Laskaris, Syrmo and their two daughters (Vicky and Eleni – oenologist) compose the image of a modern family winery dedicated to organic farming and vinification. The relationship with vineyard and wine for Lascaris was created in the mid-80s, where his first steps in amateur viticulture and winemaking took place, with the aim of enjoying wine with relatives and friends. Since then, wine has become a family issue.
2004 marks the beginning of the winery with the planting of Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah, varieties that monopolized the interest of domestic and international consumers and were the springboard for the creation of many wineries. A few years later, after studying the soil and weather conditions of the area, it was decided to expand the vineyards by planting Limni, Malagousia, Assyrtiko and Kydonitsa. Limnio, one of the oldest Greek varieties, has been the flagship of the winery for the last decade, since the family has believed in the dynamics and evolution of the variety.
The philosophy of the winery is sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention in both vineyards and winemaking. It is a challenge for the Aslanis family to produce wines expressing the character of each variety, as it thrives in the terroir of the region. It is worth mentioning that all wines of the winery have received vegan – vegetarian certification. The labels are mainly monovarietal, in order to achieve the absolute expressiveness of each variety, while experimental vinifications are made in order to study the different expressions of the varieties.
