A wine coloured from the grapes’ pigments, which turn it into a ‘gris’ wine, which means not completely white. A light bronze-metallic colour is reflected in the glass. Intense aroma, full of rose petals, rose water, white chocolate, balsam grass, lemon balm and white-fleshed fruits. In the mouth, a fresh, cool and very pleasant acidity supports the wine’s structure and its rich tasteful aroma leads to a typical long finish.

A really pretty in pink Moschofilero from Riverdale Wines. Currently in Vintages at the Destination Collection store on the Danforth. Pink grapefruit, nectarine and Ranier cherry with hints of cherry nibs and cream soda. Dry but viscous and minerally. Nice phenolics with slightly chalky tannins giving grip and dryness to this nicely ripe wine. And fantastic acidity!! I’m drinking at about 12 Celsius which allows all the aromatics and flavor to swirl in and out of the glass. A beauty rose that’s not quite a rose but absolutely worth a look. $23.95, LCBO # 27741and 56 bottles currently all at Danforth and Broadview. And only 11.5% alcohol!
